Watcher XL Plus - Facial Recognition Setup


Setting up Facial Recognition


Creating Images


  1. Use standard Playback to capture faces.
  2. Select date.
  3. Select time using the timeline.
  4. Double-click on the camera grid at the bottom to view the video.
  5. Pause video playback when person is in view.
  6. Click on the camera icon  to save still image.
  7. Repeat as needed.
  8. Exit   Playback when finished.

 

Accessing Facial Recognition Setup


  1. From the main screen, right-click to bring up the menu.
  2. Click Face Recognition.
  3. Click Face Recognition Setup.


Setting up Face Management Groups


  1. Select Blacklist Setup or Whitelist Setup from the top tabs.
  2. Click Add at the bottom.
  3. Give the group a Name (Shoplifters, VIPs, etc.).
  4. Select a picture from the file folder(s).
  5. Double-click on a file to have it display.
  6. Click on Face Detection.
  7. Click on Thumbnail
  8. Click Add.
  9. Repeat as needed.
  10. Click Save when finished.
  11. Click Exit.


Setting up Cameras


  1. Select the Camera Setup
  2. Select the Device (camera) from the drop-down menu.
  3. Channel Name is the same as the Device.
  4. Face Detection is Local Device.
  5. Set the Filter Threshold to 85%.
  6. Set Frame Rate to 2.
  7. Detection Mode is Max Face.
  8. Min Face is ≥60 pix.
  9. Face Quality Score is ≥60 pix.
  10. Click Detection Area Setting.
  1. Option 1: Click Select All to use the whole image area.
  2. Option 2: Hold down the left click button and drag a square for the detection area desired.
  1. Click OK.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Repeat for up to a maximum of twelve cameras.
  5. Click Exit.


Viewing Facial Recognition Playback


  1. From the main screen, right-click to bring up the menu.
  2. Click Face Recognition.
  3. Click Face Recognition Playback.
  4. Click the Playback
  5. At the bottom of the screen, change the Filter Threshold to 85%. If this does not give enough results, change it to 80%.  The lower the percent, the less of an exact match will display.
  6. Select the Start Time.
  7. Select the End Time.
  8. Select Search Face.
  9. From the popup window, select Facelist Type.
  10. Search Type is Name.
  11. In the Search Keyword box, start typing the name of the list to be searched (Shoplifters, VIPs, etc.)
  12. Click Search.
  13. Click the Face UID number.
  14. Click OK.
  15. Results will populate the Face Search timeline.
  16. Double-click on an entry to view the video. Stop, Pause, Play, and Snapshot icons are at the bottom of the screen. 
  17. Click Exit  when finished.
